Our two-piece lower shaft assembly for the Tarsacci MDT 8000 detector features "Steve's" heavy duty, adjustable, removable clamping
cam lock, to connect the middle and lower shaft sections. This shaft assembly attaches to your stock Tarsacci upper S-shaft, using
the Tarsacci upper cam lock. One primary benefit of this shaft, is that the middle and lower sections are of smaller diameter than
the stock shaft sections -- meaning substantially reduced hydrodynamic drag, when used in water/surf. This shaft can also be made
in custom lengths, including "tall-man" lower rods.
Because that cam lock clamps the shaft sections directly, there is no need for a lower-rod spring button and pin -- and therefore no
need for button holes in the middle shaft. Your lower-rod length is adjustable to any position, rather than only the preset
holes of a stock shaft, and removing or installing a lower rod is far less tedious.
Additional lower rods can be purchased, at a special add-on price of $45. No additional shipping will be added, if the extra lower rods are purchased at the same time as the lower shaft assembly.
